Hyperia Opening – All You Need To Know
Thorpe Park have just released an information video containing all the relevant information to know about Hyperia’s opening period, you can watch the following video.
As you are hopefully aware, Hyperia is opening at Thorpe Park on Friday 24th May 2024. The opening hours for the Park have been extended to 8pm for this date and also Saturday 25th May to ensure the day runs smoothly and everyone has the opportunity to ride to UK’s tallest and fastest rollercoaster.
If you require more information about Hyperia’s accessibility information and rider requirements, check out our Guide all about it here!
Arrival & Opening
On the day, there will be 2 different queues through security to enter the Park. These are for Club 236 winners, plus Hyperia step-free access and Ride Access Pass. With a second queue for the main Hyperia queue (including fastrack and single riders) and for all other rides in the Park.Â
Following security, there will be a waiting area ahead of the ticket turnstiles where guests with a Ride Access Pass reservation will be able to collect their time card from the Accessibility Kiosk and join the waiting area afterwards.
To join the Hyperia queue and be one of the first to ride this record-breaking rollercoaster, you will need to join the holding queue which will start at the head of the bridge – just keep left and follow the path. Once the team are ready to welcome riders, there will be marshalls to slowly guide the queue through the Lost City via a step free path to the holding area. Please remember, DO NOT RUN or deviate from the designated path. Once in the queue, QUEUE JUMPING RULES WILL APPLY.
Holding Area
The holding area and extended queueline will be located within the Lakeside picnic area, just behind SAW – The Ride or under Colossus. Here the queue will split into two with one side for fastrack, step-free access, and Ride Access Pass guests, with the other side for all other Hyperia riders. Please note, these queues are only shared in the holding area and will become seperate when arriving at the main queue for Hyperia. It’s also important to note that the front row queue will NOT be available during Hyperia’s opening period – we will provide an update when this does become available. Staff will be on hand in the holding area to assist with any queuries or concerns. The test seat will also be unavailable in the holding area so if you have concerns regarding suitability, please speak to a member of staff (in their golden hi-vis). For a closer look at the opening procedure map, click here!
Hyperia Opening Procedure
Once Hyperia is ready to open, guests in the holding area will be slowly guided to the main queueline. This will happen in stages.
A fabulous opening ceremony is planned and you will be able to view this from within Hyperia’s plaza. This opening ceremony will also be available to livestream via the Thorpe Park YouTube Channel or Instagram – we also aim to deliver as much content as we can from Hyperia’s opening day so stay tuned!
Rest Of The Day
The Hyperia queueline will remain open until the Park’s advertised closing time (8pm for opening day and following day), this could mean a late night for some guests but also a great opportunity to experience this extraordinary coaster late into the evening.Â
Thorpe Shark Cabins Guests
On the 24th and 25th May, Vibes Bar & Kitchen will be open for breakfast from 7am with the introduction of a ‘Grab & Go’ breakfast which will be available on request. Breakfast is served until 10am but is expected to be busiest between 7am and 9am.
Hotel fastrack does NOTÂ include Hyperia. Only guests staying in Hyperia themed rooms will be able to claim a one-shot fastrack from the hotel reception. For other themed rooms, there may be one-shot fastrack tickets available to purchase, so be sure to enquire at reception.
It’s important to remember to stay safe during this busy period and remain respectful at all times. We are all there to enjoy the golden moment as Hyperia takes her first flight.
