Thorpe Park Fright Nights 2024 Review: A Chilling Thrill Like No Other!
Thorpe Park’s FRIGHTS NIGHTS once again delivers a spine-tingling experience in 2024, with a mix of returning favourites and exciting new additions that promise to keep even the bravest guests on edge. However, while the event continues to showcase its mastery of fear, some elements are showing their age.
Mazes
Trailers remains the standout maze of the year, offering relentless jump scares that kept us on our toes from start to finish. Though in its fourth year, the maze’s iconic SuperSpark Cinema still packs a punch, even if it’s starting to look a little worn. The creativity behind the theming is still top-notch, but we couldn’t help but notice it didn’t quite deliver the same bone-chilling creeps as it did in the past.
DeadBeat, the brand-new maze for 2024, was a highlight. Themed around your ‘last night on Earth,’ this nightclub from hell with DJ Canistro made for a thrilling, immersive experience. The scares were well-timed, the theming intense, and the smells added a unique layer to the horror! This maze is definitely one to watch and adds a fresh spin to the FRIGHT NIGHTS lineup.
Returning strong this year is Survival Games, which has seen an electrifying addition to the pre-show that ramps up the intensity before you even enter. As expected, it’s as brutal as ever, a maze designed to push you to your limits.
Scare Zones
One of our long-standing favourites, Crows of Mawkin Meadow, once again delivered. This year, there are new pathways to explore, and the men of straw keep the tension high as you navigate through their domain. The eerie backdrop of Hyperia adds a new level of atmosphere to this scare zone, making it more immersive than ever.
Shows
The shows this year have been nothing short of amazing, with soundtracks that match the intensity of the scares! Lucifer’s Lair, now in its second year, has undergone massive improvements, with a thrilling new soundtrack and choreography that captivated us. Creature Campus – Looks Can Kill is another standout, with a brand-new set, an engaging storyline, and choreography that hits the mark. This show is full of catchy tunes and energy, making it one of the best shows of the night.
New Additions
For 2024, Thorpe Park has introduced the IT 4D Experience at the Sunset Cinema. Featuring clips from the hit horror movie, this new addition adds another layer of frightful fun for movie fans. We also noticed new sponsorships around the park, with Fanta photo booths and free Chupa Chups adding a lighter (and tastier) touch to the experience.
Night Rides
As always, FRIGHT NIGHTS wouldn’t be complete without taking in the night rides. Hyperia at night remains an absolute must-do, with breathtaking views of the park lit up against the dark sky. There’s truly nothing like the rush of a night ride under the stars.
Summary
In conclusion, FRIGHT NIGHTS at Thorpe Park continues to uphold its title as the Home of Fear. While some elements like Trailers show signs of aging, new additions like DeadBeat and the IT 4D Experience keep the event feeling fresh and fear-inducing. Whether you’re a returning visitor or a first-timer, 2024 is packed with enough thrills, chills, and unforgettable scares to keep you coming back for more!
