Thorpe Park Win 8 Awards At The UK Theme Park Awards 2024!
The UK Theme Park Awards 2024 were hosted at Thorpe Park today, 19th September. Thorpe Park were nominated for 19 awards this year & won 8!
The UK Theme Park Awards are organised by ThemeParks-UK.com, an independent consumer guide to UK theme parks. In 2024, the awards are presented in association with AttractionTickets.com.
There are 22 categories this year, including Theme Park of the Year, Best Customer Service and Best Value. The new categories include Best Ride Storytelling, Best New Food or Retail Outlet, Best Theme Park Lodges or Glamping, Best Accessibility Initiative and Best Sustainability Initiative.
In advance of the public vote, a shortlist had been compiled using thousands of public nominations and with the help of a panel of expert judges including Paul Kelly (Chief Executive – British Association of Leisure Parks, Piers and Attractions) and Andy Hine MBE (Chairman – Roller Coaster Club of Great Britain).
Major contenders for the awards include Alton Towers and Drayton Manor in Staffordshire, Blackpool Pleasure Beach in Lancashire, Thorpe Park and Chessington World of Adventures in Surrey, LEGOLAND Windsor in Berkshire and Paultons Park in Hampshire.
Other UK theme parks to receive multiple nominations this year include Adventure Island in Essex, Blackgang Chine on the Isle of Wight, Crealy in Devon, Fantasy Island in Lincolnshire, Flamingo Land in Yorkshire, Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach and ROARR! in Norfolk, Pleasurewood Hills in Suffolk, Wicksteed Park in Northamptonshire, West Midlands Safari Park in Worcestershire and the various Gulliver’s Theme Parks.
There is also an award for Content Creator of the Year, in recognition of the high quality user-generated content via blogs and platforms such as YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.
The winners were announced during the UK Theme Park Awards ceremony at Thorpe Park on 19 September 2024 from 10.30am.

Thorpe Park wins the gold award with their Golden Goddess, Hyperia!
I wasn’t expecting to say any words around Hyperia just yet, but we’re so happy to have had Hyperia here [at Thorpe Park] – obviously our first coaster here in 12 years & it was a long wait but I think it was well worth it. I’ll get to speak a little bit more about my passion for Hyperia & Thorpe Park later but, hopefully, if you haven’t ridden it before today you’ll get the chance to later. Thank you very much.

Best Reimagined Attraction 2024
Best Theme Park for Thrills 2024
Another gold award for Thorpe Park! This one’s no surprise, though – they are the home of feel-good thrills after all!
Thank you very much! Obviously we’re absolutely delighted, & what’s even better is that we’re expanding those thrills to even more riders with Hyperia being a 1 metre 30 [height restriction] which has been so well received. Thrill-seekers come in at all ages and it’s just brilliant that this year we’ve been able to open up one of our most thrilling rides to our younger audience as-well. Hopefully you’ll be able to go on it later but thank you very much!

It’ll be a celebration at Howell’s Toy Emporium this evening! Stitches, brand new to Thorpe Park FRIGHT NIGHTS in 2023, has won the gold award!
I’d just like to say thank you, very, very much for this award. It’s been fantastic working on FRIGHT NIGHTS for the last five years.
