Hyperia during Golden Hour Review
We recently experienced a ride on Hyperia when the park extended its opening hours until 9pm to allow guests to ride at night. Here is an overview of our experience and some tips and tricks we have created for anyone visiting the park on Saturday 31st August – tickets for the day are available here.
- After waiting a while outside, Hyperia’s queue line gates the queue closed at 20:30. Although the park has advertised park closure at 21:00, we wouldn’t advise leaving it until the last minute to join as the queue may close early again!

- If you’re feeling a bit cheeky & want to head to the back of the queue once you’re already in, don’t. Yesterday, security were in Fearless Valley & removing guests doing this from the queue, meaning they missed the opportunity to ride Hyperia in the dark.
- Last but not least – enjoy the experience. The atmosphere in Fearless Valley is unmatchable so cherish the moment!
Review
There is so much to talk about with the experience of Hyperia in the dark that we would love to share with you. Firstly the atmosphere from sunset to the end of the night was amazing and even gave us the FRIGHT NIGHTS feels when walking around the park. It’s amazing how different the park feels in the late evening. Next, we got some final rides in on some classics before making our way over to Fearless Valley for the rest of the night.

Once in Fearless Valley, we got some amazing photos and spoke to many other enthusiasts whilst we all waited patiently for the sun to fall. We then entered the queue line alongside many others who were desperate for the final train. In the queue many creators were vlogging and documenting this moment and many fans were caputing memories. We then headed into the station, looking even better at night, with the lighting sequence and soundtrack making the atmosphere even more surreal.
The ride itself felt so much more intense as you travelled through each element and the views you get of the park are unreal. Make sure you ride Hyperia in the dark when you have the chance and each member of Team Thorpe Guide who was there to experience it would tell you the same.
